Hello, my name is Chuck Vanderbyl and I want to thank you for visiting our web site. I am the President of C.V. Vacuum Platers Inc. (formerly C.V. Plastics Plating) and I’d like to give you a brief overview and history of our business.

In 1993, after many years of restoring collector cars as a hobby , I  found there was a real need in the market place for a custom plastic plating business.

After researching how the automobile manufacturers plated parts originally, I discovered it was done by vapour deposition in vacuum chambers.

Coincidentally, my father, Leo Vanderbyl, at one time had built telescopes as a hobby and just happened to have a vacuum chamber.  He had purchased the chamber years before at a NASA auction and used it to plate the lenses for his telescopes.

I'm sorry to say my father passed away on September 28th, 2003 at the age of 84.  However, right up to the year before his death, he continued to be active in the company and assist me in developing and expanding the business to what it is today.

Shown to the right is my father and the chamber  that started it all.

Shown to the left is the 72" Stokes Vacuum chamber we have today which has now been computerized.

We are the industry leaders because we  are constantly upgrading, expanding and updating our techniques to produce the best quality restoration plating you will find.  We have computerized our chamber to provide consistent plating on the parts and we are continually researching and using the best paints available on the market today so we can provide you with the best quality and a finish that will last longer than the original manufactured piece.
